We have received a shipment of "Shiri-urushi Magewappa Lunch Boxes" from Kosakaya Lacquerware, a store located in Kiso Naraijuku, Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, which is famous for its bent wood and lacquerware.
This time we have seven bowls and round lunch boxes. We have also started selling a few large and small oval lunch boxes.
The bentwoods of Kiso Naraijuku have a history of 400 years and are designated as "Traditional Crafts of Nagano Prefecture". In addition to bentwoods, lacquerware is also produced in Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture, and Kiso lacquerware is also designated as "Traditional Crafts" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Kiso trees grow slowly in the cold region, and are famous nationwide for their fine, dense, high-quality wood.
