The bentwood ware from Kiso Narai-juku has a history of 400 years and is designated as a "Traditional Craft by the Governor of Nagano Prefecture." In Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture, not only bentwood ware but also lacquerware production is thriving, and Kiso Lacquerware is designated as a "Traditional Craft" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Lacquer develops a beautiful amber color with a lustrous sheen as it is used over time. Please enjoy the aging process as the color changes from a deep hue to a bright amber.
