We have restocked the "Soup Bowls" from Rokurosha, a workshop based in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, a famous production area for Echizen lacquerware, which had been out of stock.
You can choose from two types: "Raw Urushi Wipe-Lacquer Finish" and "Black Urushi Wipe-Lacquer Finish." Both wipe-lacquer finishes, where the lacquer is applied directly by rubbing, allow you to appreciate the beauty of the wood grain. They preserve the wood's natural breathability, and the antibacterial properties of the lacquer help keep food fresh and delicious.
Each bowl is carefully crafted by Yoshio Sakai, a master of turned wood, who continues the traditional techniques of his craft.
