Wooden individual plates made by woodworker Kyota Minato.

When you serve Japanese sweets with tea to your guests, you can show your hospitality by serving them on the individual plates with rich wooden grains that Minato made. Of course, you can also use them casually for everyday meals or when inviting friends to your home.

A wooden vessel that can be used for a long time.

Each plate is made from Ichii wood, which is hard and water resistant. The uranium-coated wood has been applied so the soft parts of the wood are scraped away and the hard parts remain, making it less susceptible to scratches and allowing you to use it in good condition for a long time.
The Uzukuri process creates unevenness in the wood grain, so you can feel the wood's unique characteristics when you touch it.
Although it is difficult to see, there are bumps and grooves that follow the grain of the wood, and the shadows created by these bumps and grooves give the wood grain an even richer look.

Carefully and without sparing time and effort

Each wooden plate is about 3mm thick. It takes a lot of time and effort to make one. Wood is a living thing and will gradually warp. By thoroughly drying and repeatedly molding the material, it is less likely to warp even at a thickness of 3 mm. The works of Workshop 201 are carefully crafted with no effort or time spared.

Maintenance method

We use Ichii wood, which is said to be water-resistant, and we make it water-resistant by using an oil that is a mixture of vegetable oil and a little urethane. However, due to the characteristics of wood, we do not wash it with water, but if it gets dirty, we recommend wiping it off with a damp cloth.
You can also protect the wood from dirt and water by applying a thin layer of olive oil or camellia oil about once every six months. We hope you will enjoy the stains and dirt as part of the wood's unique character, just like the grain of the wood.
