The opening of Hizen Yoshida ware kilns dates back more than 400 years. However, because it is geographically close to Arita in Saga and Hasami in Nagasaki, Yoshida has been a subcontractor for these companies and has been honing its skills in the shadows for a long time without its name being in the public eye. Representative and maker Tsuji Satoshi is the eldest son of Tsuji Kenji, the sixth generation head of Yoyama Kiln, and has spent his childhood surrounded by Yoshida pottery and the beautiful mountains. He trained under a potter (wheel wheel master) at his family's Tsujiyo Pottery Factory, and attended the Arita Ceramics College to acquire skills and knowledge. Through his involvement in the manufacturing process, he has created unique and new products with the desire to "make sure Hizen Yoshida ware is not forgotten and that more people know about it. I want to clarify the significance of making pottery here (in Yoshida)."
"224porcelain" is a Hizen Yoshida-yaki porcelain brand launched by creator Satoshi Tsuji in 2012. Based on the techniques cultivated over a long history, the brand is currently attracting a lot of attention for creating new and unique products.
