Furuya Pottery | Iron Scatter Sculpture Plate

A dignified and easy-to-use 7-inch plate

"7-inch carved plate" by Furuya Ceramics, which has a workshop in Shigaraki.
The delicate carved patterns that stand out against the soft white give it a simple yet somehow dignified impression. The beautiful shades of the glaze and the carvings create a gentle presence that subtly enhances the food. At first glance, it looks Western, but the soft atmosphere of the powdered iron makes it a perfect match for Japanese cuisine.

The 7-inch size, approximately 21cm in diameter, is perfect for serving main dishes or breakfast plates. It enhances any dish, from grilled fish and fried chicken to grilled vegetables, making serving fun. Its slightly deeper dimensions make it ideal for serving pasta dishes with a bit of liquid. It also looks great on cakes and baked goods.

Koichi Furuya's tableware has a sophisticated appearance while evoking a sense of nostalgia. Its appeal lies in the soft texture it feels when you hold it and its calm appearance that naturally blends into your everyday dining table.

You can choose from two sizes: 6 inches and 7 inches. We also recommend purchasing different sizes or the whole series. You will grow to love it more and more with each use in your daily life.

-Even if the work is the same, each piece is handmade by the artist, so there may be individual differences in size, pattern, weight, color, unevenness, shape, etc.
- Because natural materials are used, small iron spots (black spots) contained in the soil, or pinholes where the glaze has flowed or accumulated, may be visible.
・Please use the size and weight information as a guide only.
Please be aware of the above before purchasing.

●Precautions for use
・When you first use it, wash it lightly with detergent and use it as is. Because it is water-absorbent, it may turn gray or develop spots when soaked in water, but please rest assured that it will return to its original state once it dries completely. There is no problem with the quality.
Boiling the product in rice water or similar will help prevent stains, but please note that the color may change until the product is completely dry.
- When serving oily or dark liquids, quickly soak the dish in water or hot water to moisten it before use, which will make it less likely to stain.
・After use, please dry thoroughly before storing. To prevent mold and stains,
-It can be used in a microwave, but cannot be used in an oven or over an open flame.
・We do not recommend using a dishwasher.
- Although the bottom has been treated, please use a rug or similar just in case.

[Commitment to white tableware] (Quoted from the Furuya Porcelain Company website)
White tableware enhances any dish and can be used freely and generously. We work every day to create elegant and warm "powdered white Japanese tableware." Clay is essential for making "white Japanese tableware." We create our own unique clay through careful soil cultivation, and use this clay to form potter's wheels and tatara pieces. The gentle, rustic earthenware color that peeks out from beneath the surface of the vessel gives it a very deep, rich feel. We would be extremely happy if you could use and enjoy the warmth of our Japanese tableware in your daily life.
