This is the 'Fuchi-ara Yokobori Primo Meshiwan Small' from Furutani Seitojo, which has its workshop in Shigaraki.
The colored parts are made by applying rough clay and then carving with a comb. This gentle-to-the-touch vessel features a rough texture around the rim and an impressive horizontal carving pattern on the sides. The simple and calming white appearance blends seamlessly with any dining table.

Its small size makes it perfect for when you want a little less rice, or as a rice bowl for children. It's great for freshly cooked white rice, brown rice, or mixed grain rice, and even serves as a handy small chazuke bowl.

Koichi Furutani's rice bowls are elegant, warm, and possess a somewhat rustic charm. These rice bowls enhance the food, stimulating the appetite, and with accompaniments like tsukudani or shiokara, you could eat endless bowls of rice.

Available in two sizes, large and small. It's a good idea for families or couples to have both the large and small sizes.

・Due to the use of natural raw materials, small iron spots (black spots) in the clay, glaze runs and pools, and pinholes may be visible.

●Usage Precautions
・For initial use, lightly wash with detergent and use as is. Due to its absorbency, it may turn grey or develop spots when soaked in water, but it will return to its original state once completely dry, so please do not worry. There is no problem with the quality.
・Boiling it in rice water can help prevent stains, but please note that the color may change until it is completely dry.
・When serving oily foods or dark-colored liquids, immerse it briefly in water or hot water to allow it to absorb moisture, which will make it less prone to staining.
・After use, dry thoroughly before storing. This will prevent mold and stains.
・It can be used in the microwave, but not in the oven or over direct flame.
・Dishwasher use is not recommended.
・Although the bottom has been treated, please use a placemat or similar as a precaution.
