Hoya Kobo ｜ Ladder Bowl (large and small)

Ladder bowls (large and small) from Inahoya Kobo, a workshop based in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture. The soft, cute shapes and patterns, and warm texture are appealing. Shigaraki is known as a region that produces high-quality clay, and the traditional techniques that have been cultivated over its long history are still passed down to the present day. It is counted as one of the six ancient kilns of Japan.

Easy to use

The ladder bowl, named after its ladder-like pattern, is a simple medium-sized bowl that combines lines and dots. Its simplicity makes it a versatile dish that will enhance any dish. It can be used for many purposes.

Enjoy the dinner table

There are two sizes: large (φ23cm) and small (φ16cm). The large size can be used to serve pasta or side dishes, or as a single plate. The small size can be used to serve salads or simmered dishes, or as a serving plate. Each plate is slightly deep, so you can use them to serve dishes with a bit of sauce or salads that require dressing without worrying.
As you use it every day, you will begin to see the crazing that is unique to pottery. Enjoy watching the expressions on the pieces as they grow.
Hoya Kobo has a workshop in Shigaraki Town, Shiga Prefecture. The cute and soft designs, shapes, and colors are unique to Hoya Kobo. They attract so many people that there are long queues when they set up a stall at an event.
