Mortar without grooves
The biggest feature of Kamoshika Doguten's mortar and pestle is that the mortar bowl has no grooves. If you look closely, you can see that the inside surface has small, rough bumps. These uneven surfaces allow for good friction even without the need for grooves.Food doesn't get stuck
In a typical mortar, ingredients are ground in grooves. After grinding, ingredients get stuck in the grooves, which can make cleaning a hassle. The mortar and pestle from Kamoshika Douguten has no grooves, so ingredients do not get stuck and can be removed neatly. Also, because it has no grooves, it is incredibly easy to clean.A solid foundation
The wide mortar and pestle has its centre of gravity on the base and has a slightly rough surface, making it non-slip and stable.
