If you place a bamboo slat on top, it can be used as a plate for Zaru Soba. The slat is about 195mm in diameter, which is just the right size for one serving. Just by changing the serving plate, the food will taste even better.

Some people say that wooden tableware is difficult to maintain, but at Kobo Yasu, the tableware is painted with a prepolymer that is allowed to penetrate the wood, and then the surface is scraped again to bring out the original texture of the wood, and finally finished with walnut oil. By taking the time and effort, we are able to create wooden vessels that can be used for a long time while retaining the original texture of the wood.

Easy to maintain.

Although wooden tableware is often thought of as difficult to maintain, Kobo Yasu's tableware is very easy to maintain thanks to its unique finishing process. Once every six months, anywhere you feel that some of the oil has worn off, apply walnut oil, perilla oil, or linseed oil to a paper towel. After applying, wipe off any excess oil and let dry in a well-ventilated, shady area. By doing this, you can continue to use the tableware in good condition for many years.
*When applying oil, be sure to wet the kitchen paper with water before disposing of it.

The pottery of Kobo Yasu has the letter "ya" engraved on it. They are particular about the final finishing touches, and hand-paint each piece with care. This feeling is very pleasing.
