Our products are made using 100% tin and are based on the casting techniques cultivated through the processing techniques of "cast iron," a traditional industry in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. Tin has a strong ionic effect and is said to purify water and make drinks mellow. Since ancient times, tin has been used for sake and tea utensils, as it is said that "water stored in a tin container will not spoil" and "the impurities in sake will be removed, making it taste better."

In addition to using them as sake vessels, you can also use them as dressing containers, tableware, or to enjoy wine. Feel free to use them as you like.

A mellow and elegant taste, a tin sake cup

Tin has a high ionic effect, and is said to purify water and make drinks mellow. It has high thermal conductivity, so if you put a katakuchi in the refrigerator for even 1-2 minutes, you can enjoy a nicely chilled and mellow drink. Feel free to use it as a dressing container, tableware, or to enjoy wine.

What is tin?

Tin is the third most expensive metal after gold and silver.
Tin, known as the third most expensive metal after gold and silver, is resistant to oxidation and has strong antibacterial properties. It has a long history, and it is believed that tin tools were used in the ancient Egyptian dynasty around 1500 BC, and tin treasures are also kept in Japan's Shosoin Repository. It has also been said since ancient times that "water stored in a tin container will not spoil" and "the unpleasant flavors of sake are removed, making it taste better," and so tin has been used for sake and tea utensils.
Nousaku's tin is 100% pure. Usually, other metal materials are added to make it harder and easier to finish, but Nousaku's tin does not contain any of these.
100% pure tin is very soft and, depending on the shape and thickness, can be easily bent by hand. When bending, a high-pitched squeaking sound is produced, which is the sound of tin molecules rubbing against each other and is called "tin cry."
Although it is a metal, tin is gentle on the skin, so you can enjoy it in various situations in your life.
Using the casting techniques cultivated over Takaoka's 400-year history, the company manufactures traditional crafts that make the most of the properties of materials such as tin and brass. Nousaku not only maintains and passes on traditions, but is also constantly challenging itself to create new things.
