This soba bowl has a heavy, impressive wiped lacquer finish. You can choose from two types of lacquer: raw lacquer and black lacquer, and the same series also includes rice bowls and soup bowls. Yoshio Sakai, a woodcarver, carefully crafts each piece while inheriting the traditional techniques of a woodcarver.

You may think that maintenance is difficult, but Rokurosha's BASE series is finished with multiple coats of wiped lacquer, making it stain-resistant and water-resistant, so you can use it with ease. You can also use a neutral detergent, and after use, quickly wash it with a sponge or similar, wipe off any water with a soft cloth, and then wipe it with a dry, soft cloth.
