We started making accessories to help people understand the benefits of wood. Each piece is made with great care and effort, with the user in mind. All of solnte's accessories have a gentle expression.
This trivet is made using accordion patterns, a technique Solunte is good at. It is made by threading 15 accordion patterns one by one with leather strings.

Fun trivet

From the bottom up, the wood is made of oak, maple, and black walnut, and each piece is carefully polished. It's nice to be able to enjoy the different textures of the materials. [Wood material: Oak, maple, black walnut]

You can choose from three types. Also great as interior decoration.

For those who want to use the same material, we also have trivets in oak and black walnut. They come with a leather cord so you can hang them on the wall when not in use to add a little touch of kitchen decor.

For pots and pans.

You can put anything on it to brighten up your dining table. You can put a pot on it for tea time, a pan for family use, or a gratin dish if you live alone.

About wood and paint

[About trees]
Oak
At first, it is a light brown color, but the more you use it, the more it will turn amber. It brightens up the atmosphere of the room. It is a hard wood. [Origin: Europe, Russia, Japan, etc.]
Black Walnut
It is characterized by a deep purple-brown color. The more you use it, the lighter the color of the wood will become. It will give the room a calm tone. It is softer than oak. [Origin: North America, Canada, etc. (not domestically produced)]

[About painting]
Vegetable oil paint
Vegetable oils do not prevent wood from absorbing moisture, and they change color to amber over time with the wood while maintaining the texture, giving it a rich flavor. On the other hand, they are vulnerable to heat and moisture, but we think it is good to use them while thinking of stains and dirt as part of their flavor. Wax maintenance once or twice a year will help prevent dirt and water.

solnte is a husband-and-wife duo, Yoshiyuki and Fumi Shimada, who have been designing and producing wooden furniture and accessories in Kanagawa, Nagano since 2009. While they are fond of Scandinavian antique furniture, the two of them are also impressed by traditional Japanese styles and craftsmanship. They take great care in creating products that incorporate both Scandinavian and Japanese tastes.
