The accordion-patterned small box is made entirely from solid wood and can be used either horizontally or vertically. It takes a long time to complete because it is made by connecting each accordion piece one by one. The reason for this commitment is the love for the product and the desire to convey the benefits of wood to users. Because I want people to know.

About wood and paint

[About trees]
Oak
At first, it is a light brown color, but the more you use it, the more it will turn amber. It brightens up the atmosphere of the room. It is a hard wood. [Origin: Europe, Russia, Japan, etc.]
Black Walnut
It is characterized by a deep purple-brown color. The more you use it, the lighter the color of the wood will become. It will give the room a calm tone. It is softer than oak. [Origin: North America, Canada, etc. (not domestically produced)]

Vegetable oil paint
Vegetable oils do not prevent wood from absorbing moisture, and they change color to amber over time with the wood while maintaining the texture, giving it a rich flavor. On the other hand, they are vulnerable to heat and moisture, but we think it is good to use them while thinking of stains and dirt as part of their flavor. Wax maintenance once or twice a year will help prevent dirt and water.

solnte is a husband-and-wife duo, Yoshiyuki and Fumi Shimada, who have been designing and producing wooden furniture and accessories in Kanagawa, Nagano since 2009. While they are fond of Scandinavian antique furniture, the two of them are also impressed by traditional Japanese styles and craftsmanship. They take great care in creating products that incorporate both Scandinavian and Japanese tastes.
