This is a rim plate by sunny-craft, made in Shigaraki.
The warm colors and shapes of the kise and glaze, and the hand-drawn polka dot pattern are attractive. The rough texture that gives off a sense of earthiness is also appealing.

This rimmed plate features a gentle texture of kise and glaze and an attractive hand-painted dot pattern. The small plate is 1.5cm deep and the large plate is 2.0cm deep, so you can serve dishes with liquid or sauce. If you have multiple small and large plates, you can use them for a variety of dishes.

For your daily meals

The small-sized rimmed plate (φ14.5cm) is perfect not only for serving small portions of a single dish, but also for serving snacks such as Japanese sweets, chocolates, and cookies.
The large rimmed plate (φ24cm) is the perfect size for serving main dishes on an everyday basis, or as a pasta or one-plate dish. When you have guests over, it doesn't take up as much space on the table as a large plate, and is also useful when you want to serve several types of side dishes.

Before Use

Ceramics are absorbent, so dirt will inevitably stick to them. At Sunny-Craft, we recommend boiling them in rice water before use (and then letting them cool naturally). This will help prevent dirt and stains. After use, wash them immediately and dry them thoroughly before storing them. Normally, dipping them lightly in water before using them will help prevent dirt from soaking in.
