The aluminum lunch box, which is durable, highly recyclable, and aesthetically pleasing, has been re-released. While plastic is often the first material that comes to mind for lunch boxes, we chose aluminum for 'THE LUNCHBOX'. The anodized aluminum lunch box has a somewhat nostalgic feel, is lightweight and durable, and is protected by an oxide film on its surface, making it almost corrosion-free and hygienic.

In addition to being durable, highly recyclable, and aesthetically pleasing, a key advantage is that while it cannot be used in a microwave, the contents of the lunch box can be warmed in a food warmer (heater), making it useful in places like kindergartens. It is resistant to heat and has 15 times the thermal conductivity of stainless steel, allowing it to heat up quickly.

'THE LUNCHBOX' has a smaller base area than typical anodized lunch boxes, but compensates with added height, achieving a shape that is easy to carry and doesn't take up much space in a bag. Its capacity is 375ml. It's the perfect size for children to use one, and for adults to use two—one for rice and one for side dishes. Additionally, by making the lid longer than regular anodized lunch boxes, we designed it to be less likely to come off and to prevent spills. A very smooth lid opening and closing mechanism is also a feature.

Beyond just a lunch box, it's also convenient for storing small items like prescription medications that lack their original packaging, such as drug packets, tubes, or jar containers, or for keeping small food items like coffee beans and tea readily accessible. Its perfect size for small items makes it suitable for desktop use, where this nostalgic aluminum box naturally blends into daily life.

Since its launch in April 2013, 'THE LUNCHBOX' has been highly popular with many customers for over 10 years. However, due to a decrease in factories capable of deep-pressing aluminum and a rise in raw material costs, production had been suspended for some time. THE had long struggled to revive 'THE LUNCHBOX' but was unable to find a new factory to transfer production to.

Despite the challenging manufacturing conditions, the revival of this product was handled by Idea Sekikawa, a manufacturer from Tsubame City, a leading production area for metal processing in Japan.

They accepted the transfer of molds from the previous factory and, utilizing the high technical expertise of local factories and artisans, achieved the renewal. A new "THE" engraving has been added to the bottom, and the packaging has also been updated.

While 'THE LUNCHBOX' has been revived after much effort, production is still not entirely stable. Nevertheless, we remained committed to aluminum not only for its functionality but also for its appearance. This lunch box is filled with meticulous detail, despite its seemingly utterly simple shape.

・Be careful when placing food directly after cooking, as the container will also become hot.
・Although designed to minimize spills, please be careful as liquids may leak if placed sideways.
・Scratches may cause corrosion, but it is harmless.
・Avoid using a dishwasher.
・Alkaline detergents commonly found in dishwashers can scratch the surface and cause discoloration and corrosion.
・Do not use alkaline detergents (such as bleach or dishwasher detergent) for cleaning, as they can cause corrosion.
・Wash gently with a household neutral detergent on a sponge.
・Be careful not to cut your hands on the edges. After washing, drain thoroughly and dry to prevent corrosion.
・Avoid using metal scrubbers, nylon scrubbers, or abrasive powders, as they will scratch the surface.
・When using sharp metal cooking utensils, be careful not to scratch the inner surface. Using wooden, bamboo, or plastic utensils will prolong its lifespan.
・To prevent corrosion and discoloration, do not leave food in the container for extended periods (e.g., more than a day and night).
・After prolonged use, the anodized layer on the inside of the lid, etc., may peel off due to friction and turn black, but this is harmless and nothing to worry about. It can be removed with cleanser or steel wool. However, if left as is, it will quickly re-blacken, so boil the aluminum container with commercial rice bran or vegetable scraps in a pot of water for 10-15 minutes. This will make blackening less likely to occur.

・From the perspective of metal processing, aluminum is softer than other metals and prone to fine scratches. Therefore, for deep-pressing processes like that of 'THE LUNCHBOX', the material is difficult to handle at the raw material stage. For this reason, slight scratches may be visible on the material itself.
・Since the anodized oxide film treatment is applied after the shape is completed, scratches will not spread further or be added on top. However, please understand that the surface will not be perfectly flawless without a single scratch.
