A processing technique that cuts straight-growing Chizu cedar trees straight and without distortion, bringing out the beautiful grain. Magewappa lunch boxes made from fine wood are produced using the traditions, wisdom, and techniques of the many craftsmen in Chizu Town.

The material is cedar, unpainted finish

The "Magewappa lunch box" is made from unpainted plain Chizu cedar. Chizu cedar has natural temperature and moisture regulating properties that provide adequate moisture, so the food stays fluffy and delicious even when it cools down. In addition, the subtle scent of cedar stimulates the appetite, and the sterilizing effect of the wood is said to prevent rice from spoiling. If you take good care of it, you can use it for a long time.

Okinoyama Cedar has long been valued, along with Yoshino Cedar in Nara Prefecture and Akita Cedar in Akita Prefecture. It is said that Chizu Cedar began when artificial forests were created by taking cuttings from natural Okinoyama Cedar. The tree planting history is said to be over 400 years, and the beauty of Chizu Cedar's neat and dense grain is highly valued nationwide.
