Chizu Cedar has been carefully cultivated by the mountain people. This is a processing technique that cuts straight-growing Chizu cedar straight and without distortion, making the wood grain look beautiful. Magewappa lunch boxes are made from fine wood and are made using the traditions, wisdom, and techniques of many artisans in Chizu Town.

The material is cedar, unpainted finish

This bento box is made from unpainted Chizu cedar, leaving it in its natural white wood. Chizu cedar has the natural ability to regulate temperature and humidity, providing just the right amount of moisture, so the food stays fluffy and delicious even when it cools down. The subtle scent of cedar stimulates the appetite, and the sterilizing effect of the wood means that rice will not spoil easily. If you take good care of it, you can use it for a long time.

After eating, wash with a soft sponge without using detergent, wipe with a cloth and dry in the shade. At this time, it is best to place the lunch box upside down to allow natural evaporation. If you don't mind taking this extra step, you can use it for a long time. - If you quickly wet the container with water before packing the rice, the rice will be less likely to stick. ・If you put food directly on the pan, it may stain. If you want to avoid staining as much as possible, we recommend placing a cooking sheet underneath.

Okinoyama Cedar has long been valued, along with Yoshino Cedar in Nara Prefecture and Akita Cedar in Akita Prefecture. It is said that Chizu Cedar began as an artificial forest created by taking cuttings from natural Okinoyama Cedar. The tree planting history is said to be over 400 years, and the beauty of Chizu Cedar's neat and intricate grain is highly acclaimed nationwide.
