We have received a shipment of "Polished Lacquer Bentwood Lunch Boxes" from Kosakaya Lacquerware, located in Kiso Naraijuku, Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, an area famous for its bentwood and lacquerware.
The items we have in stock this time are seven-piece bowls and medium-sized oval lunch boxes.
These lacquered bento boxes are carefully crafted by traditional craftsman Takayuki Kojima. He carries out all the processes himself, including wood selection, wood processing, bending and lacquering, and is one of the few traditional craftsmen who has inherited the two traditions and techniques of Kiso's "magemono" and "lacquer."
