"Long-lasting and simple."

Katsufumi Baba Pottery Studio values this motto, and their products perfectly match these words.

Delicious freshly cooked rice

Katsufumi Baba Pottery Studio's "Rice Cooking Pot, 2-cup capacity, Black" uses the far-infrared effect unique to earthenware pots to slowly and thoroughly heat the rice grains to their core, resulting in fluffy, sweet rice. This handmade rice cooking pot by Mr. Baba brings warmth to your daily meals, making them even more delicious and a little more luxurious.

This 2-cup capacity pot is easy to use for 2 to 3 people. Once cooked, it can be brought directly to the table. It keeps the rice warm, allowing you to enjoy the deliciousness of freshly cooked rice. The deep color of the black glaze naturally blends not only with traditional Japanese settings but also with modern dining tables, making it versatile for daily use and entertaining. The thick earthenware pot also retains heat well, keeping the rice warm for a long time.

Delicious even when cooled or reheated

Rice cooked in an earthenware pot is characterized by its sweetness remaining even when cooled, because the heat slowly penetrates to the core of the rice grains. If you have leftover rice cooked in the morning, you can transfer it to an ohitsu (wooden rice container) and enjoy it for lunch. The rice grains maintain their firmness and are less likely to become sticky over time, making it ideal for bento boxes. Additionally, it is microwave-safe, so you can reheat leftover rice directly in the microwave.
With "far-infrared effect × gradual temperature changes × humidity control unique to earthenware pots," the rice remains delicious even when cooled or reheated.

Basic way to cook rice

[1] Add rice and water (approx. 1:1.1 to 1.2 ratio), and wait a little on low heat until the entire pot is warm.

[2] Turn up to high heat.

[3] Once boiling, reduce to very low heat for 5 minutes.

[4] Turn off the heat and let it steam for 10 minutes on the trivet.

[5] Fluff gently from the bottom with a rice paddle and serve.

The far-infrared effect makes the rice deliciously cooked.
Various cooking methods are introduced online and in videos, so please find the method that suits you best.
