Katsufumi Baba Pottery Studio | Rice Cooking Pot 3-go (White) Katsufumi Baba Pottery Studio is located in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
The pottery made by ceramic artist Katsufumi Baba is all simple, yet has individuality, wouldn't you say? Everything, including the glazes, is handmade, conveying his passion and dedication to pottery. These pieces are likely to be used for a long time in various aspects of daily life.

"Long-lasting and simple."

Katsufumi Baba Pottery Studio values this motto, and their products perfectly match these words.

Delicious freshly cooked rice

Katsufumi Baba Pottery Studio's "Rice Cooking Pot 3-go White" utilizes the far-infrared effect unique to earthenware pots, allowing heat to slowly penetrate to the core of each rice grain, resulting in fluffy and sweet rice. Each pot, warmed by Mr. Baba's handcrafted touch, makes everyday rice even more delicious and a little more luxurious.

The 3-go size is easy to use for households of 3 to 5 people. Once cooked, it can be taken directly to the table. It can be served at the table while maintaining its temperature, allowing you to enjoy the deliciousness of freshly cooked rice. With its soft white texture that blends well with both Japanese and Western styles, it's perfect for everyday use as well as entertaining. The thick earthenware pot also retains heat well, making it resistant to cooling down, which is another attractive feature.

Delicious even when cold, or reheated

Rice cooked in an earthenware pot is characterized by its sweetness remaining even when cold, because the heat slowly penetrates to the core of each grain. If you have leftover rice cooked in the morning, you can transfer it to an ohitsu (rice container) and enjoy it for lunch. The rice grains maintain their texture well and are less likely to become sticky over time, making it ideal for bento boxes. Additionally, it is microwave-safe, so you can put leftover rice directly into the microwave to reheat it.
"Far-infrared effect × gradual temperature change × humidity control unique to earthenware pots" ensures deliciousness even when cold or reheated.

Basic way to cook rice

[1] Add rice and water (ratio of about 1:1.1 to 1.2), and wait a little until the entire pot warms up over low heat.

[2] Turn to high heat.

[3] Once it boils, reduce to very low heat for 5 minutes.

[4] Turn off the heat and let it steam on the trivet for 10 minutes.

[5] Gently mix from the bottom with a rice paddle, and it's done.

The far-infrared effect ensures delicious cooking.
Various cooking methods are also introduced online and in videos, so please find the method that suits you best.
